At the February 27th Old Saybrook Board of Education meeting, the Board unanimously appointed Dr Krista Bauchman as the Interim Superintendent effective April 1st, following the retirement of Jan Perruccio. Dr Bauchman has been preparing for her 093 Superintendent certification while interning with a shoreline superintendent this past year. She will assume this role until Chris Drezek, our incoming Superintendent, joins our district full-time in May.
We can assure you that the students at the middle school and throughout the district remain our top priority, and we have prepared for a seamless transition so that our students continue to feel supported by their teachers and administration. Superintendent Perruccio will be sending further communication about the plans for leadership at the Middle School during this five-week period within the week.
