Old Saybrook High School

We’re thrilled to share that 11 OSHS students are diving into the Electric Boat NextGen Boat Program, gaining real-world, hands-on experience in some of the region’s most in-demand trades!

Since November 24, our students have been attending experiential learning sessions at Grasso Tech in Groton, with three more sessions ahead at Rhode Island Community College in Westerly. Even better — they represent all four grade levels at OSHS, and for the first time in program history, we have three female students participating!

Throughout the program, students are exploring six high-demand career pathways at Electric Boat:

Welding
Ship Fitting
Machining
Pipefitting
Electrical
Sheet Metal Fabrication

What a night! The Old Saybrook All Stars took on the Harlem Wizards, and thanks to our amazing community, we raised over $7,000 to support Old Saybrook Public Schools.

Thank you to everyone who came out, cheered, and made the event such a success. We’re proud to be part of a community that shows up for our students.

Casey DeAngelo was recognized as the Student of the Month for Math by the Old Saybrook Rotary Club. The Rotary Club honored Casey and recipients from Old Lyme HS and Westbrook HS at Saybrook Point Inn during breakfast on November 12. Congratulations, Casey!

The Harlem Wizards are coming to town for one unforgettable night of fun, laughter, and jaw-dropping basketball tricks!

This morning, all of our Old Saybrook schools proudly celebrated Veterans Day. At Old Saybrook Middle School, students had the special opportunity to meet and learn from a panel of local veterans who generously shared their stories and experiences in service to our country.

Following the discussion, our Culinary Arts students hosted a delicious breakfast for the veterans, and the band and chorus closed the morning with a heartfelt performance in their honor.

We are deeply grateful to our veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service, and to our students and staff for helping make today such a meaningful celebration of gratitude and respect.

Old Saybrook Girls Soccer will play Canton in the CIAC Class S Semi-Final on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:00 pm. The game will be played at Glastonbury High School. All tickets must be purchased online via GoFan. No cash will be accepted at the gate. Let's fill the stands and support the Rams!

For their Capstone project, two Old Saybrook High School juniors entered a nationwide art contest where they turned a record player into a guitar case for the theme “Band Together.” They invited Art Club members and any other interested students to design patches that represented something about themselves. All the patches were then combined to decorate their guitar case to show off the creativity, community, and unity in our school.

Voters can vote once per day per region through Friday, Nov. 7th.

The winner of each region will move on to the finals round, which will be judged by a team at Crosley.

Each like on a social media post counts as a bonus vote toward your final total.

Unified sports carved pumpkins donated from Old Saybrook Walmart. Manager Mike from Walmart came to carve with us and even brought mini candles to put in our finished pumpkins. Thank you Old Saybrook Walmart for a great event!
